Membership is open to all archers who are members in good standing of a club affiliated to a province. There are many benefits to joining the Federation, the greatest being that as a member you can contribute towards the growth and recognition of the sport. Membership is a requirement to participate in sanctioned tournaments, including the national championships. If you are a member of a recognised club, join today or read more about membership.

Sanaa is the only archery body that can recommend Protea Colours, the highest sports recognition that can be awarded to an athlete, to the SA Colours Board. Provincial Colours for our sport may only be awarded to athletes who are members of Sanaa and who have met the standard as set by the provincial archery structures. Provincial Colours may only be earned by members who have met the provincial qualifying criteria and who participate in our national championships. Separate National championships are held for indoor, field, target and 3D disciplines. Read more.....

important info! SANAA Membership year start on 1 January each year. Invoices are send via email in November. If joined before June full membership is paid, after June a pro-rata amount is calculated. Lapse members will pay the full membership amount.

Who are we?

The South African National Archery Association (Sanaa) was formed in 1948 by a group of enthusiastic archers. Today, it is the national federation for all amateur archery in South Africa and is the national governing body of the sport. Sanaa offers its members the opportunity to participate in all disciplines and it recognises both the World Archery Federation and the International Field Archery Association disciplines. In so doing, members can decide which discipline they are more comfortable with and have the opportunity to compete in target, field, 3D and indoor archery. Read more about us.
