There are many benefits to joining the Association, the greatest being that as a member you can contribute towards the growth and recognition of the sport. Members are required to renew their membership each year.

Membership is a requirement to participate in SANAA and FITA sanctioned tournaments, including the national championships. Existing members are sent their membership renewal automatically. ACSA Implements Hand Luggage Restrictions
As part of the country’s preparations for the World Cup commencing later this year, ACSA will be implementing hand luggage restrictions. This is being done in conjunction with all domestic airlines in an attempt to ensure a reduction in unnecessary flight delays, mainly caused by at-home check-ins and self-service kiosks, contributing to the increase in hand luggage. The restrictions have already been implemented at O.R. Tambo International since 20 January 2010 and will be enforced at the Cape Town and Durban International Airports from this coming Saturday, 6 February 2010. The restrictions  are as follows: For Economy Class Passengers: 1 bag + 1 laptop. For First Class/Business Passengers: 2 bags + 1 laptop.  The weight of each bag may not be greater than 7 kg.  The dimensions for each bag may not exceed 115cm (56cm+36cm+23cm).

SANAA Recurve Coaches Course a Resounding Success
The SANAA recurve coaching course was held at the High Performance Centre during the 8th to the 15th of January.  The course was run by coach Baek Mun - FITA coach based in Egypt. The first section of the course was for archers.   Many lessons were learnt by both our experienced and new archers not only on shooting form but also bow tuning.  Coach Mun has shown our archers that there are many subtly different styles, that one can learn new "tricks" (even after 34 years of shooting), that it makes good sense to go back to shooting with  a basic bow when working on  form and that the bow draw exercises that were shown – although they were like going through “boot camp” at the time are essential to remaining archery fit.
