National Coaches Chairman

The role of the National Coaches Chairman (NCC), amongst others, is to develop and facilitate the implementation of a National Coaching Program from beginner and a novice archer to the advanced and gold squad archer, through provincial coaches.

 

The NCC is required to develop and implement standards for coaches including the management of a coaches accreditation system. The role includes the monitoring of standards of coaching and coaching programs for the development and growth of the sport.

 

The National Coaches chairman is Malcolm Todd, assisted by Grant Gammon. Malcolm is an accomplished archer, being the only recurve male to have shot a 1300 in Africa until 2008. Grant is a recognised compound coach, having represented South Africa at international tournaments.

Novice Instructor : 1 year shooting including 3 tournaments

Intermediate Coach : 1100 FITA star & 1 year shooting

Black

Intermediate Instructor : 2 years shooting including 6 tournaments

Dynamic Coach: 1200 FITA star, 2 years shooting, attended a national coaching course, 10 page research document on a subject of your own choice.

Blue

SANAA Coach: 5 years coaching experience, attended a national coaching course, a research document of at least 10 pages of script, 3 pages of diagrams/sketches, plus 20 photographs of your own choice.

Master Coach : 1250 FITA Star, 5 years shooting experience, a research document of at least 10 pages of script, 3 pages of diagrams/sketches, plus 20 photographs of your own choice.

Red

Senior SANAA Coach : 10 years coaching experience, attended an international coaching course, a research thesis covering three years of intensive research into a relevant topic.

Grand Master Coach : 1300 FITA star, 10 years active shooting experience, a research thesis covering three years of intensive research into a relevant topic.

Yellow

Coaching Consultant : 20 years coaching experience, an advanced thesis of intensive research into the advance of at least 3 South African archers up to at least the 1250 tournament FITA level.
